There was one posted not too long ago that a guy made out of PVC pipe. It was free standing and was adjustable in height. The opening was something like 24 inches by 30 inches and uses a laundry bag to catch the brass. It was pretty nicely done.

Someone used to market the hand brass catcher, have'nt seen one lately.

If it attaches to your hand or your gun, I think it's more trouble than it's worth. I had tried one years ago that attached to the wrist but it just seemed so cumbersome to use. I think having one attached to the gun would be even worse for control but I haven't tried anything in recent years. YMMV.

Don't attach anything to your pistol. The weight will cause malfunctions and it just looks stupid. Either make a free standing net or just sweep it up afterwards. There is no easy way to catch pistol brass.

Now that I load my own ammo and it's pretty soft shooting, the shells just kinda pile at my feet, believe it or not. It's really nice.

I have a brass catcher I used on my MPA 9mm. It worked OK, but honestly more bother than anything.

I've yet to see anybody actually use one at a Angeles or my local range. Supposedly some have a tripod with a fishing net clamped to it.

For the AR-15 off the bench I just drape a bar towel over the scope, allow it to fall to the bench and place an ammo box to hold it down on the bench. Brass just gathers on the bench below the ejection port. Wife gave me a old pink towel printed with little white lambs and black lambs, which was perfect for my sense of incongruity.

It will effect your shooting, whether pistol or rifle. As it fills with brass the weight will increase on the right side of the weapon.

Anyone ever try a BUBCA? I think they look like they could work well (and they pack into an ammo can) but they're kind of $$ and I'm not sure if they'd be the best option for me as some of my shooting is at indoor ranges and outdoor BLM.

I put this together a few months ago. The net is from Basspro 11.00 for the net, plus the pvc, I may be in to this for under 20.00...

Heres a video of this net in action.. Take a close look at the left side of my neck, I caught a brass casing a few minutes earlier from my neighbors rifle,, BURNT like hell!!

for pistol brass, I've found this works quite well. If you're switching between guns, you'll have to adjust it. For rifle brass, I made my own catcher.

Bigfoot, I`ve got the 3` Bubca and it works great. Easy to use and all you do when done is take it down and close the can. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but lately so is brass and if you shoot mil sa it makes it much easier to collect without having to search through the thousands on the ground!

I've found that a left-handed smoke shifter can actually double as a brass catcher.
