However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep."Comment

I bought a S&W M&P45 last year. Great gun. It had a couple magazine reloading issues I didn't like. I sold it and got a G21SF. Never looking back.CLEVERLY DISGUISED AS A RESPONSIBLE ADULTComment

You can't buy a handgun in California until you are 21 years of age. If your parent or grandparent is also a California resident then they can give you one as a gift once you turn 18, but you can't pay for one yourself until you are 21.__________________

I've shot 2 21's over the course of 17 years.I think I've had 2 malfunctions, one because the floorplate of the mag just fell and the other I don't remember.Ive been able to palm a basketball since junior high so I actually add a slip on grip to help build a better hold. The 21 is scary accurate if you learn to take your time and practice. An added bonus is they hold 15 rds.Comment

Op, I don't think you can go wrong with either, also in the same price range is an xd .45. For what it's worth I have a glock 30sf and love it. Fits my medium sized hand just fine. I would go hold them all and whichever one feels the best in your hand and you feel comfortable shooting get that one.
And yes you can get a nice solid shooting 1911 for under $1000. Shoot a used Wilson/Nighthawk/Brown/Baer will come in under $3k. Yes I do have a high end 1911 like that and no I'm not planning on getting rid of the g30sf anytime ever. They are completely different animals.Comment

Can't go wrong with either. Try to shoot both before buying.... I love my G21 though! It was my first gun at 14 and it'll always be my favorite! It's ok to be jealous. We understand your animosity. We live the life you wish you had. And of over 4000 universities and over 1700 division 1 schools, only one is simply known as "The U"Comment

I own a M&P45 and sold my Glock 21 (non-SF) and enjoyed both. I don't mind the large G21 frame, though I do prefer the feel of the M&P. I think it's more ergo friendly. I own the G20SF, which feels more like my G22 so for smaller hands I would recommend the SF. Either way, can't go wrong with 45ACP.Comment

The M&P is another one I'm considering. I'm going to see which is a better fit for my hands. I have not held a G21 yet. Is it really as -fat- as everyone says?I own a M&P45 and sold my Glock 21 (non-SF) and enjoyed both. I don't mind the large G21 frame, though I do prefer the feel of the M&P. It is thick, but when I first started buying handguns, I thought the Beretta 92FS and HK USP were too thick and too high bore profile, but now I own the USP. You get used to the size and learn to adapt. I wold recommend, to start, would be to find one that just feels right in the hand. If you do, you won't have that issue of discomfort while shooting.Comment
