AT least this "someone" simplifies the filtering problem because everything he said is garbage. The SSE mod is done to legally permit the FFL dealer to sell the gun as a firearm that is exempted from the DOJ list. Once you own it, you are perfectly at liberty to restore it to its original condition without any legal issues. There is nothing illegal about using a 50 round magazine that is permanently blocked to limit its load capacity to 10 rounds. In any event, Beretta makes an OEM 10 round mag that is compatible with this model PX-4.

I traded e-mails with Ryan @ Table Rock Arms about a year ago about the PX4 Compact.
He said he could do the SSE but we were never able to track down a PX4 Compact in stock anywhere... when I last contacted him, I think he'd mentioned being on vacation until November though so look him up then if you haven't gotten your PX4 before Nov.
Good luck!Comment

Ryan converted a PX4 INOX for me, and transferred the pistol to EBR Works for DROS. Unfortunately, I don't think he's doing conversions anymore, and based on the complexity of the barrel, he simply inserted a 22LR barrel into the 9mm bore for the conversion, which probably wouldn't go over too well these days.I traded e-mails with Ryan @ Table Rock Arms about a year ago about the PX4 Compact.

I've always said that the PX4 was a great pistol, but unfortunately, an underrated pistol that hasn't gained much popularity, so you probably will not find a dealer that has a single-shot barrel available for it.
At this point, depending on how bad you want the pistol, the only opition to have is to simply purchase a barrel that would bring the overall length of the pistol to 10.5 inches, and supply the pistol and barrel to a single-shot dealer.
EFK Barrels are one of few barrel manufacturers that carry and would make the PX4 in the required length. If I'm not mistaken, the PX4 is the standard-issue firearm for the Canadian Mounted Police, and EFK supplies them with aftermarket barrels, so they could probably supply one to you in a relatively short amount of time.
If you go that route, here's a thought to reduce the overall cost. Whomever is going to complete the exemption and DROS for you may simply buy the barrel from you, or simply waive the transfer and exemption fees in exchange for the barrel.
Good luck.Comment
