Im not going to re-iterate on things, or be a creationist. I have a feeling you already know all three of those manufacturers are fine. My suggestion would be to buy American made.

My Ruger SR9C is my main carry gun, and I have no peening issue. I understand they've fixed that early issue, though I may be mistaken. I like it very much, though I did put a Ghost trigger in it, which feels really nice.

On the other hand, my son has a Glock 19 which I like to shoot, and that will probably be my next gun, if not the Glock 17.

I have the M&P 9 and a couple of Glocks. No complaints, love 'em both.

My only Glock a G27 genIV is the only semi-auto gun I own that has never malfunctioned.

At least 2500 rounds through it by now and the only time it's ever jammed was with a single round of aluminum cased ammo.

My SR9 has an easy 4000 rounds through it, and I've never experienced peening, nor have any other SR9 owners I've met. Mine has worked flawlessly from day 1 (after cleaning out the factory grease). The mentions of it on the internet are all concluded the same way (send the slide and barrel to Ruger and they'll fix it).

My suggestion is the SR9 - it's also the gun I carry every day.
If you don't like the safety, don't engage it - it's stiff enough that rattling around in my laptop bag has never engaged it on its own.
The mag disconnect doesn't bother me, and I find the drop free nature of the mags to be vastly superior to the Glock (SR9 mags are ejected with extreme prejudice, glock's often stick). The mags also lock in with less pressure, making reloads under stress more reliable.
I use to be an anarchist but I quit that; there's too many rules.

I have a g19 &it sr9. Both have different, but excellent triggers. I like them equally. Glock wins because of Accessories

I recently bought a new Gen 3 G17. I had nothing but issues, sent it back to Glock, still had issues. Glock finally sent a new gun and I traded it for an M&P, which has treated me quite well.

The Glock issues are real enough. Many people end up with great guns, but plenty have problems. I did not want to risk another Glock with issues and my LGS was willing to swap out my new replacement G17 for a new M&P. Besides, I find the M&P feels more natural in my hand and is more comfortable to shoot. But that is me.

I don't know anything about Rugers. I own 3 Glock gen 3's and would (and probably will) buy again.

My friend has an M&P, which is more ergo and better feeling in my hands than my own Glocks. What I hate is the stock trigger. He swapped it out a few months later with the Apex trigger kit, and now the trigger is absolutely fantastic. If you go M&P, get the Apex trigger and you'll love the gun. I wouldn't buy an M&P if planning to keep the stock trigger.
