Does such a "beaver-tail" exist?

A buddy of mine is looking for a drop in style beaver-tail to use on his Remington R1 1911. He would like to use his standard GI spec hammer (non-bobbed or Commander model), and have the high grip and fit of a beaver-tail grip safety. Is there anyone out there that offers a beaver-tail safety that will work with the standard hammer? Anyone know anybody who can custom make one? We have both looked, but have had no luck so far. Oh, and he would prefer that it had a blued finish. Thanks!

You'll probably have to bob the hammer a little bit to get it to work with a beavertail but it should work and could look nice also. I think some of the 10-8 ground up 1911's feature that look as well as a concave cutout at the back of the beavertail to assist in thumbing the hammer.

You can also go with the "OG" Beavertail style, though they don't call them that anymore.

Reviews says it fits GI/Mil-Spec with minor fitting.

A Colt "duck-bill" style grip safety will do it. Other than that I don't really know of one.
