    Beretta PX4 Storm

    Hey guys,

I'm in the market for a new handgun, I'm thinking of getting the Beretta PX4 Storm in .40 or 9mm. What are some of your experiences with this pistol? Also, does it have a magazine disconnect safety? Thanks!

I held it today and it's comfy. I'm seriously considering buying one instead of the Glock I've been planning on. The store owner said they're both good reliable guns, and it comes down to personal preference and ergonomics.
My AR is 7.62x39, so that if/when we get invaded, I can shoot their ammo back at them!

I've never seen a Beretta Storm with a mag disconnect. I could be wrong, but I've never seen one.

          Awesome, that's a huge plus! I'm debating between a Glock 17 or a Beretta.

It all comes down to ergonomics and feature requirements. They're both great guns and I've shot both, but the Beretta feels instinctively better for me than the Glock. Like many shooters that criticize the Glock grip angle, I don't feel natural with the gun presentations on target.

Exactly! My airsoft Glock 19 fits my hand perfectly. Not sure if the position of the thumb/finger depressions changed on the newer generations, but on the 17, its too high, and on the 19, the finger depressions on the grip seem cramped (though the thumb depression is perfect).

The Beretta feels perfect, and I love the trigger. You have to pull it a ways, but the break is crisp with no creep, and its EASY!

Good stuff, I just got done doing some more research and I love the safety/decocker. The PX4 is a DA/SA right? Also, which caliber do you guys recommend?

                  DA/SA

Get the caliber that you can be proficient with and afford. You're looking at a price difference per box of 50 between 9mm and 40 S&W of almost $5. That's not even broaching the subject of 9mm vs 40 S&W in ballistics either.

I have one in 9mm and love it. The trigger reset is sweet. It is DA/SA and no mag disconnect.

Had mine in 9mm for a few months now and I have no complaints about it. I've put close to 300 rounds through it so far with no kind of problems. The recoil is almost nonexistent for the 9mm model; it's almost like shooting a .22. The double-action pull is crisp and smooth.

                      And it's prettier than a Glock. :P

Carried the G23 for 25yrs with the OCSD; now retired with a PX4 in .40 and an SP2022, also in 40. The Beretta just works for me and of course, I highly recommend it. If, you get the chance, shoot both first, then make your decision.

                            I had the same experience...

Definitely shoot one before you buy it. It wasn't for me...

I rented a beat-up range gun once and it shot best among all those I tried which were a Glock, a Steyr and an HK. I was very impressed.

I got rounds on target with the PX4 which I wasn't able to get with the others.

BTW it was all in .40
