Sig 2022?

The P228 is arguably one one the finest 9mm's ever made. The balance of size and weight puts it on a level of its own. German made or not, I can't tell a difference. You certainly can't go wrong with a used P228. Just look at the rails to make sure it wasn't abused. Most guys tend to use a grease on the rails instead of just lube.

That being said, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up a 2022. In fact it may be one of my next purchases. Looks like a solid gun at a great price. Compare it to an XD if you get the chance in a store. They're pretty similar. My next door neighbor is in the navy and his issue gun is a P228. He just bought an XD because of the price to practice with when he's not at work. He wanted something similar to the Sig without the price tag. Not sure why he didn't get a 2022.

The problem is there are just so many great choices available today.

It eats any ammo.

We have shot almost exclusively Federal 115gr ammo from Walmart and Winchester WB with not a single problem.

They are a fantastic bargain.

Got my mags from TopGunSupply or if you call Sig directly, they give you a deal if you buy 3 or more.

What are your thoughts on the quality of the Sig 2022? I am looking at a possible buy on one in 9mm. I have only seen older reviews. If anyone here owns one any info would be appreciated. I know the prices are so reasonable it almost makes be think the quality is not the same as the rest of the p series.

I say shoot one first... I have one, love it, I have put around 6k rounds through it. But that being said, the controls can get in the way if you really get a high grip on it like you would a glock or m&p. But that is really a training issue. It is surprisingly accurate for the length of the barrel. It also is bet your life on it reliable... After 6k rounds, not a single problem, in fact it has gotten more accurate with time, which is more than I can say about some other polymer framed guns own. Plus Sig has great customer service. Hell and back reliability

Has anyone changed the sights on these? Seems like most people are using the stock fixed sights.
