That's the problem. The barrel. Unless you can find a .300 BLK 7.5" to 10.5" in HF CL CMV for around $150 or less, it's going to be expensive to build one.

What's the point of running that round without a suppressor? And in pistol form instead of SBR?

.308 bullet using same parts (magazine, bolt) as .224, and keeping same magazine capacity.

Suppressor and SBR will both cost extra money (and time), so might as well try it out first for less $$.
        This is my sig line.

Can't own an SBR in CA. Pistol is as close as we can hope for. Even without a suppressor, it's pretty quiet when subsonic. And it's 30 cal that uses standard AR mags.

Since he is outside of Ca, SBR and a suppressor are entirely possible.

If you go for a can, the side charger might be worth the price. If you can shut off the gas it becomes a straight pull bolt action which is the quietest way to run a suppressed gun and the side charger makes that much more convenient.

Any AR or AK pistol is more for fun than for practicality.

                      Got my AR-Stoner 10" for $199.
maybe not the best but as AR-pistol fun-gun it should work OK.

Wow. Nice find. Do you know who made them?

I guess I should have gone to my local Crossroads gun show a few weeks ago to check.

I too am working on a 300 pistol build... How feasible is it to just buy a regular length barrel and cut it down? It seems that the 16" are cheaper then the pistol length ones... Piston or gas? Piston looks to be quite a bit more expensive but I like the idea of it being so clean clean Post some pics of your progress...
