    Should I????....

Wanted to get everyone's take if I should trade in or put my SR9 for consignment and get a SR40.

The reason for this desicion is to get some more compact for coceal carry and I'm just worried that my SR9 would be too big to conceal.

Has anyone ran into this dilema?

No...because an SR40 is WIDER than an SR9.

Are you thinking of an SR40c perhaps? (C for compact)

        There's an SR9 & SR9c and there's an SR40 & an SR40c.

Keep it and get the other one too, so you have a compact to carry and a full size to take to the range. You'll take it a hit on resale and they aren't that much to begin with so keep it if you can afford it.

                            Yup.

Last year I owned an SR9 and SR40.The compact model's advantage is that it has a shorter barrel and grip w/a ten round magazine. I decided for the SR40 because I'd carry the compact with the full size 15 round mag,so I may as well go with the full size frame anyway . In America the SR series compacts are sold with a high cap and a 10-round flush fit compact magazine.

In California you guys are limited to 10 rounds no matter what, so in your case it makes more sense to get the compact. What's the point of the extra grip space if you're not going to use it?

As to a comparison, the recoil of the .40 S&W in the SR40 is so soft that its better in my estimation than the SR9's is with +P 9mm. I sold the SR9 first for that reason because IMO it's much jumpier than its full size cousin is with .40 S&W.

The 1911 may have been in wars for 100 years, but Masetro Bartolomeo Beretta was arming the world 400 years before John Browning was ever a wet dream.
