    guide rod

    should i replace my colt .380's plastic guide rod to a metal one? is this neccesary?

    Everyone I've ever asked about plastic guide rods will say that it's all in your mind.

    Millions of Glocks run fine with plastic guide rods.

        i would buy another plastic one and some recoil springs just to have some extras, though.

            I never did figure out the fascination with changing out guide rods.

                    No, it is not necessary. I have had my plus II for years with the plastic guide rod. I don't shoot it much anymore but it was shot quite a bit back in the day and I never had a problem.

                      All hype, I have titanium ones and ss but the plastic is in my G23C. Spring weight is about ammo but the only thing my gun ever did with a swap is FTF when my friend would shoot it, weak grip...

                        I run across very few springs that are actually what's marked on the package. You're best bet is buying a few spares and weighing them yourself.
