    .410 Revolvers,

Are the various revolvers that will shoot .410 shotgun shells or 45 long colt legal to own in California? I don't want one but I have a friend that thinks that would be the ideal snake gun and asked me about them. I thought I read somewhere they were not Cal. legal.

NOPE. Short barrel shotgun=felony. Unless converted to AOW. Thanks for enlightening me on this.

I believe they might be legal if bought with an AOW tax stamp but then it's a revolving magazine shotgun which might be banned under the "assault weapon ban".

What I have heard is that they are neither good revolvers nor good shotguns so they aren't worth the bother.

correct, if converted into an legal AOW, it can then be possessed in CA.

nope, not a shotgun since it was never designed to be fired from the shoulder. Therefore, the Shotgun AW regs should not apply to it.

thats the way I feel so I have never wasted the time to get one legally.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

they make shell shots witch are supposed to be designed for pests like snakes i believe and the come in different calibers, ive heard they function like crap in auto pistols but might not be bad in a revolver
