    Driving with a Handgun

    Hello everyone.
I just turned 21 last week and I just purchased my first handgun (Kimber 1911 Custom II) and I am curious, I do not have a CCW, can I drive with my 1911, loaded, in a Keypad locked safe bolted to the floor underneath the drivers seat? I do not plan on carrying it anywhere inbetween driving. Just putting it in when I leave work and out when I get home. Also, if this is legal, and a police officer pulls me over for a traffic stop, do I have to make the officer aware that I have a pistol in the Jeep, if I am not asked?

    Thank you!

Without a CCW the only place you can have any firearm loaded is at a range, or private property.

You can however have it UNLOADED in a locked container.
There is no justification for the public servant police to be more heavily armed than the law-abiding public they serve...Unless...the government's intention is to be more powerful than the people.

Gun must be unloaded. You do not have a responsibility to "make the officer aware" if pulled over. Gun must be in a locked container.

Of course not. Who would ever have to protect themselves out in public?
          What a joke. Thanks guys.

But the libs are taking over. Our kind are far and few in between.
I wish I could move to AZ but my business is here. Hopefully in the next 4-5 years I can get out of here.

There are more of us than you think, or that the Libs want you to think.

With the gun unloaded and the gun locked up, where can I keep the magazine?

In the same container as the unloaded gun.

Right next to the gun, inside the locked container.

You can keep the magazine full of rounds anywhere you want, including within the same container as the gun. You just cannot have that magazine actually inside the gun (and you cannot have a round in the tube).
