Thinking about making a steel target

So I want to try and make a steel target. I want to use 3/8" AR500 steel for the target, does anyone know where I can find this in the roseville, ca area??

I have seen that I can order it online, I am looking for a square about 12"x12" ...if anyone has an approximate cost I have seen it online for $80

I am still deciding on how I want the stand but i want it to be approximately 5 Feet tall.

Any local welding shops near by? I would check with them. I've been wanting to do the same thing but haven't got to calling around yet.

Not that i know of, there a couple engine/machine shops though.

Yea it doesnt seem like it would be very hard to make and will probably last a lifetime... instead of shooting small squares of paper

I would be able to do this right now if I had a welder. Pretty much the only thing holding me back. Anyway I am going to remember that one because the most expensive part would be the steel plate. Thanks for that link.

You prolly cant beat the TargetMan (he's now a vendor here on calguns)
I have a buddy that works for PDM steel and he couldnt even get me an uncut sheet (think it was 4x6 feet) for less than 600 bucks. (not to mention the extreme difficulty of cutting ar-500) Target man has 12" gongs ready made for less than 80 shipped- check him out. I know he's also the cheapest BY far on ebay- I checked...

which is more what I am looking for because they have an 11x18 square target in 3/8" for $65
