Kimbers: Why So Much Hate?

Kimbar would be my last choice in 1911s at any price point I have owned 1911s since 1971 and have 2 Wilsons 2Colts, 1 Dan Wesson and 1 WWII surplus. they all function perfectly with any ammo even the old flying ashtrays! I have to thank Frank Tabor (Tabor Engineering) in San Bruno for that as he was a wonderful neighbor to have!!! .No mim parts!!! No Kimbers for me. Thier warranty procedure is too pricey.

I also know Frank Tabor, his wife Christine, and their German Sheppered dog. I have done business with Mr. Tabor on several occasions in the past. Traded him my high cap Bushmaster AR-15, a Ruger Standard rifle, and bought SA loaded and Colt 1991.

From my communications with him over the years, HE WANTED to stock Kimbers but couldn't afford the initial capital layout and volume to be a Kimber Master dealer NOT because he has any hesitation of Kimbers over all quality.

You don't like Kimbers, that's fine. To each his own. As to the MIM issue, it is a non issue unless you want to make it an issue.!
