    Insight or streamlight?

Took a class last week that involved low light shooting and moving. It was a very enlightening (ha-ha) course, and made me decide that I need a weapon mounted light on my carry gun. I'm new to these types of lights, so I'm looking for input as to what I should get.

    Thanks!

I have Streamlight TLR-3 on both my XD and SU16, so far so good.

Insight M3 LED looks reeeeally good on Glocks. I love mine. Bright, momentary & constant, Glock style quick detach, secure lock up, zero gap, perfect switch placement.. Shot hundreds down range with the light on, no problems. ~$110

Depends on the weapon you are planning on mounting the light on.

I voted other because I thought I was in the centerfire section...

My TLR-3 has bee great. I carried it on duty for several months until my Blackhawk Xiphos and holster came in. I have had it almost a full year, searched several buildings, and still have the original battery with it. It's a great light with an even better price.

I have an Insight M3X LED on my XD9 and like it a lot. I think the M series lights were originally designed for Glocks so that's why they fit so nicely on them. The TLR-1 is probably a better light and frankly cheaper too but there's something about the M3 that I really like. My only real complaint at this time is that the bezel on the new M3/M3X LED models have like a ribbed design and it's a bit harder to clean off the carbon after each range visit. As far as the mounting method, I think I like it a lot more over the TLR screw on design.

In that case, TLR-1 or TLR-2 if you want a laser. Mounts up nicely with the GL key, easily removeable.
