Nearly 7k through my G19 with simple cleaning, never had to replace a single part and the recoil spring is good as new. I can run it dirty, throw on the ground, leave it out in the rain and never worry about it. It's more accurate than me, and easy to use. The best $495 investment, Ever. Glocks are like Civics. Lightweight, reliable, cheap, and there's a sh*tload of them. But in the end, it's still a Civic I may just pick one up for the hell of it.

It's a commercial for shooting USPSA, he just happens to be running a Glock. Happens every Saturday and Sunday thru out the US, tens of thousands of shooters run the matches. As cool as the Glock looks, it's no mechanical match for an Open STI.

I'd certainly hope not, or all those STI owners would feel pretty stupid paying 6x more (at the least) for a sub-par gun.

I'd like to see the breakdown of Glock vs. STI ranks and scores. I'm curious how this "mechanical perfection" translates to wins.

Please do not encourage others to buy a Glock. The 'Glock Kaboom Club' does not need any new members. I enjoy being the sole recipient of ridicule at the range for having a plastic pistol and I don't want to share that extra attention with any newbs. Please help a brother out.. And knock it off.

That would not be a realistic breakdown, a $500 gun will be very well represented as most local amateur shooters will shoot their Glocks at the local montly match. As mentioned, everyone and their mother owns a Glock. A $3000 STI will be in the hands of an open division shooter and with that monetary commitment, you know they will be shooting twice a weekend.

So the stats would show ALOT of Glocks and fewer STIs. And each would have winners in their respective divisions.

So apples and oranges.

For the purposes of competition, a Glock can get you started AND it can get you wins, for $500. A $3k gun would only be sensible for a guy who is really dedicated to the sport. But then that Glock can go from the match back to the nightstand, the STI...maybe not.

It's real simple, the short reset trigger of the 1911, that's all. If you actually shoot USPSA then you already know that. About half the guns in USPSA are 1911 wide bodies and Glocks. The 1911's dominate Limited and Open, the Glocks pretty much dominate Production and Limited 10. Why don't you break it down at our next USPSA match and see for yourself.

Do you shoot IDPA? Why would you run a G21 in CDP against a 1911??? Maybe you meant SSP. You can run any Glock in SSP, but only a G21 in CDP.

You can build an Open Glock, but it won't live very long, especially in major 9.

There is a reason why the TOP shooters in USPSA run 1911's, including David Sevigny (the used to be Glock guy).
