Someone can move into California as a legal owner of one or many handguns not on the Roster and bring them into the state. Any California resident can transfer a non-Roster handgun to another California resident using Private Party Transfer.

how many guns can a person bring while moving to CA and sell to private parties before it turns into dealer status? i asked this on the hk forums, because i couldn't figure out what's to stop someone that's moving here from buying a butt load of hk45's/45c's/p30's and sell them for twice the price to private parties.

you'll have to find an leo that can help you out. or someone that got one from an leo... or someone that moved in state that bought sevaeral of them from out of state. i think with time there will be availability in ca.

You can bring in as many handguns as you want.

You can not do more than six handgun transactions in a one year time span.
However, you can sell multiple handguns in one transaction.




CA Penal Code 12070
(b)(4) The infrequent sale, lease, or transfer of firearms.
(c)(1) As used in this section, "infrequent" means:
(A) For pistols, revolvers, and other firearms capable of being concealed upon the person, less than six transactions per calendar year. For this purpose, "transaction" means a single sale, lease, or transfer of any number of pistols, revolvers, or other firearms capable of being concealed upon the person.

i heard from the local gun shop that the feinstein crew might start enforcing via skewed interpretation, a chamber loaded indicator visable from 5 feet in any direction.....

anyway it's still possible to get hk45s legally, just gotta do private party transfer.
