    HK-45

Got to handle the new HK-45. A great feeling grip (to me) on this firearm.
This was the full size, not the compact. In my own opinion, a improvement over the USP

Oh yes, the HK45 is very nice indeed as well as its smaller sibling the P30. Sadly, both are tagged "For LE Only", so I can only touch and drool.

          If your interested

If any "Bay Area" Calguners want to see or handle this firearm (HK-45) I saw it at Dublin Guns and Knives on Dublin Blvd. in Dublin. I think they just go them in today.

If a LE buys one and decides he later wants to sell it, you could buy it from him.

What's the deal with it not being available to Californians?

New handguns that want to be added on the roster as of 1/1/07 need to have a loaded chamber indicator and a magazine disconnect. The LCI isn't as hard to comply to, but the mag disconnect is.

Yes I can, but I don't know anybody that wears a badge. As for the P30, I am not sure if a 10 round mag is available.

I handled one at SHOT and can't say I'm bowled over.

Frankly I like the M&P45 ergonomics. S&W really got that right.

The HK45 is on the CA testing tables. The HK45c will not be.

That's funny. Last time I checked it didn't have a mag disconnect.

I heard that they submitted a prototype HK45 before the deadline so they would not need both the disconnect and the LCI.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

On HK's own forum, the HK rep wrote the HK45 is being tested for CA approval and the HK45c will not be. The HK45 sounded like it was submitted prior to the mag disconnect as ke6guj stated. The HK45c cannot accept the mag disconnect due to the design, as stated by the HK rep, and was probably wasn't submitted prior to the cut-off.
