    Springfield 1911 - A1

I decided to go with springfield vs kimber did I make a good decision??

My LGS said Springfield has a lifetime warranty and I think that's what sold me... Is this true?

Yes, SA has lifetime warranty. You couldn't go wrong with both.

Even my RIA has a lifetime warranty...

I just really liked the feel of the Springfield, the design, and the finish. Will the SA hold more value in the long run?

if you're happy with your purchase that's all that matters. guns are not investments, they are meant to be shot.

I like Springfield over Kimber and exactly what Ducman said, it all depends on if you're happy with it. I doubt you would have regretted either one, but I think you made the right decision.

Great choice, but which model Springfield?

Yes, pretty much lifetime, and free shipping door to door if anything goes wrong.
My 9 years old 1911, was completely done over at zero out of pocket.
They have some real gun-smiths that can fix or replace parts.

Kimber is only 1 year, but I hear they may be generous at times past that (don't really know).

RIA, they might or not be able to fix, so they usually ask you to use a FFL to ship in, and they will ship a replacement.
Shipping and FFL fees will apply if a replacement is needed.
                    I admit, I dislike RIA now /small rant over/.

Lucky you found one. They are in high demand. Preferred by many gunsmiths as a base.
