    Both clerks are idiots.

Dan Wesson makes a great 1911, some call it a "cheap" Ed Brown and Ed Brown makes the best 1911's around, IMO.

Find one, buy it, and fall in love like I did. 6 days until I get my V-Bob out of jail.

Dan Wesson's are great firearms. Purchased this CBOB a couple months ago, 2000 rounds so far, not one issue. I Love It.

I love it when gun stores spread all that nonsense that you know for a fact isn't true. And then you hear people who buy their guns talk about the nonsense at the range and just shake your head.. I think I know which gun store you're talking about

Dan Wesson are very fine 1911's. I would put them up against anything in their price class (even with the price hikes). As for not being legal....there are still 2 models on the roster (CBOB & PM7), and that is the only reason Dan Wesson still makes them in limited quantities, just for California. The rest, you can still get via SSE.

Shooting a DW Valor for 1.5 years no problems love the gun. here is a good read on DW

Take a picture of the display case of another gun store a with Wessons on display and take it and and share it with them. Then let them know that you are going to informa the gun boards that the folks at the store don't know what they are talking about. They might change their tune .... on second thought, nah they won't. They are just plain dumb!

Woah, is the PM7 still in limited production?? I thought it was dis-continued and you can only buy used ones? I was highly considering SSE-ing a Dan Wesson or maybe a full custom gun but if there are new PM7's being made, that would be a great first 1911.

A Dan Wesson is as close to a Wilson combat in fit and finish and trigger feel as possible. I own 2 Wilson Combats and a Dan Wesson PM7. I would say the Dan Wessons are the best value in a quality 1911 on the market today.

The newer PM7 frame is a forging now so imo the price is justifiable.

My 1976 Colt Gold Cup that I bought new doesn't compare to the Dan Wesson PM7 in any aspect. Saying that the Gold Cup has fed and fired any ammo I have put through it including the Speer flying ashtrays.

PM7 and CBOB are still in limited production and on CA roster. Last I checked, OC Armory had a used PM7 for $900.

Thanks for the info, guys. Since I thought the PM7 was not made anymore, I was looking at their "Heritage" or maybe "Valor" for SSE. We'll see what happens when the time comes

I used to think motorcycle salesmen were stupid until I started buying guns. Compared to the Gun store employee, the motorcycle guy looks like a Nobel prize winner.
Your LGS employees have probably never even touched a DW. I will put my PM7 up against any 1911 that sells new for under $2K. The DW is as reliable as a Ruger with 2000% better fit and finish and is probably more accurate than 99% of us will ever shoot.
Buy the DW from another shop and call it a day.

Hey all thanks for the support. Like I said I was pretty sure I knew that the guys had no idea what they were talking about.

But I think I am going to go for an STI Trojan vs Dan Wesson. I know that they both have great reputations. I just can get the STI for a better price.
