    Think I just got sold on 10mm....

    Watching Alaskan state troopers and a man took a full grown moose one shot with a 10mm...

    Apparently the moose was jacking up his dog in the front yard he grabbed his Glock 20 and took a shot. Dropped dead..

    Now I'd that's not a proven test of the lethality of a 10mm idk what is.. Just figured I'd share maybe help anyone else on the fence.

    I've got another question I know these can shoot 45 with a barrel conversion.

    I read some where I could take other calibers as well.. With a conversion barrel and possibly mags what verify of ammo can the Glock 20 shoot?

        ^^Other way around on the conversion, it can only be physically sized down.

        Glock 20, conversion barrel-> .40sw / .357SIG
        Glock 21, conversion barrel-> 10mm / 400CorBon

            I'm not surprised that 10mm dropped the moose, 10mm is very powerful. I have a G20 and a G29 and really have a lot of respect for the 10mm. Like OceanBob suggests, reloading is the way to go.

              10MM is my favorite for many reasons.

              Actually if one reloads, then 10MM becomes affordable and practical.

              A Glock 20 (or 20SF) and the Glock 29 (or 29SF) will run with JUST A BARREL CHANGE: (same magazine..a .40 diameter base shell)

              1. 10MM
              2. .40
              3. .357SIG
              4. 9X25 Dillon. (Dillon precision actually invented this caliber)

              If you are willing to change magazines, barrels and the extractor you can run a 10MM barrel in a Glock 21 (or G21SF) Frame and Slide. You cannot run a .45 barrel (G21) in a Glock 20 because the barrel HOOD is too wide to fit up against the breech face of the slide.

              My advice, since both the G20 and G21 Frame are identical (including the same ejector) If you want to (for example) run a .45 on the G20 frame, just buy a slide/barrel assembly to swap back and forth Although one could pay for the $360 cost for an upper, best to spend another $200 and just get a GLOCK 21. (or G20)

              Nice to know one shot from a Glock 20 downed a Moose.....hahaha.

              I have a spare Glock 20 upper (complete slide, barrel and spring) to run on any of my G20s or G21s.

              Here's how to convert a.45 to 10MM.

                  To me it sounds like the best solution is a Glock 21, then buy a 10mm long slide setup with a fully supported chamber.

                  That way you can shoot +p .45 and pretty hot 10mm reloads all in the same gun without any paying for any parts that just sit on the shelf.

                  As for me, I'm building a 10mm 1911 to go with my .45 1911.

                          I have no first hand experience, but I've heard the barrel conversion isn't as reliable as the purpose built gun or changing out the complete upper. That being the case, I'm not sure I'd want something not completely reliable if I was facing an attacking bear or moose.

                          As Oceanbob suggested, it might just be better to buy another gun in the appropriate caliber.

                            The glock store in clairemont can answer all your questions. Plus any part you purchase like trigger parts, night sights etc.. they install for free while you wait.

                            Conversion kits are available. Also slides and barrels. As well as custom work.

                            They have lower price than Turners or Ammo Bros.
