Which Glock for CCW?

I was thinking a Glock 26, since the G17 is my main gun.

But, 10 rounds of 9mm? Why not 10 rounds of 10mm?

So the G29 is on the list too. Whenever I'm out in the woods, etc, it would be nice to have something more than a 9mm.

But the slim G36 is nice too, and I already shoot .45's with my 1911's.

These three seem to be the toss up right now. Looking to pick one up this coming weekend. I've shot the G26 and a ton of other Glocks, but not the 29 or 36 as they seem more rare.

G26 = 6.42" L x 4.17" H x 1.18" W
G29SF = 6.97" L x 4.45" H x 1.28" W
G36 = 6.97" L x 4.76" H x 1.10" W

Glock 29 is noticeably thicker and heavier than the 26. If you are comfortable with it on your hip, can conceal it well, and shoot it well; then by all means get it.

It's .10" thicker than the 26. Heavier isn't really an issue. I'm sure I can shoot it fine.

I was thinking the G29 because I love my G20, and there are times where I'm off the beaten path with my family.

Any subcompact will do..

All depends on which caliber you favor feel confidant with and can manage in sub compact form.. Asking us wont do you any good you need to go shoot each caliber your interested in in subcompact form and see how you do and choose from there.

Personally I'd stick with one in 9, 40 or 45. Anything more I feel would be hell to manage in a sub compact and anything smaller I wouldn't feel confidant with.

I'm a smaller guy and run a 36. It conceals well with a Galco King tuck holster, slim and not too heavy. But you do make a compromise with 6 plus1 rounds.

Actually the wife and I were discussing getting her a G36. All you could want if your into that sort of thing (Glocks).
Personally I think its a great little gun. Accurate and pleasant to shoot. 6 in the mag and one in the pipe is plenty for defense, so why not?

The 26 is right at the cusp of too big for concealment for my daily attire and those extra ounces would help to pull my pants down off my skinny arse. It's okay, tho since I just don't like .40. Too snappy for me to enjoy practicing with. .45 is okay, but there again it's bigger and heavier with less capacity.

I like the number of rounds in the 9mm; 11 in the mag with the +baseplate and 1 in the chamber.

I say go as big if if you can, tho.

I own and carry both the G26 and G29sf. They definitely are different sizes even though they are both categorized as "sub-compact". I carry the 26 quite a bit more due to it being slimmer and overall smaller in size. Not to mention I practice and train with the 26 a hell of a lot more due to cost of ammo. But if you reload that doesn't really matter. The frame of the 29 does a pretty good job of dampening the recoil, even with full power 10mm loads the 29 is still easy to shoot. You can't go wrong with either one, but I feel the 29 is more versatile overall. It's a great gun for backpacking, hiking, and EDC. I love mine. I would just go shoot both and then decide.
