Seriously, I have a couple of S&W semis with mag disconnect features. Just know it's there and never really bugged me. I don't shoot any of my pistols without a mag in the well.

It's a bit of hardware inside the gun that prevents the gun from firing if a magazine is not properly inserted.

Glock does not have one.

I have never heard of someone modifying a handgun to INCLUDE one, though removing them seems frequent.

If one wants a gun that has a magazine disconnect, it would be better to buy a model that has had it designed in.
