When you clear a Glock, You:
- pull the mag
- cycle the slide (several times)
- visually verify an empty chamber
- drop the striker
Plus, if you are in a tactical reload and you need to use your weapon, it will still fire.
Magazine disconnects are like seatbelts on a motorcycle...
