    I don't get it (XDm)

Car broke down in WY and I'm stuck in Rock Springs. So I decide to check out the local gun stores.

One of them had 2 SA XDm's in stock. BOTH of them USED. I asked to see one and she brought it out of the case for me.

I played with it for about 5 mins or so and I don't understand all the to do about this gun.

What am I missing? Other then the fact that it's not on the roster.
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

m stands for more money. Seriously though, there are some improvements that were made that may not be immediately apparent. It holds three more rounds than the XD, adjustable blackstrap, match grade barrel, no trigger pull for breakdown, grip redesign for better mag release, etc. Someone will correct me if I've misspoken as this is from memory.

OK, to be honest I don't have much experience with the SA XD either.

So, what I take from your post is that this gun kind of feels like the XD but has some upgrades.

I will give you that the grip did feel comfortable in my hand and the magazine release was pretty easy to push. But, over all I wasn't inpressed with the frame. It seemed to be really thin walled construction. Is that how the XD is made?

The m actually stands for match so the XDm would be better used for competition than the XD. Both great firearms.

            Thanks XYZ.

Like said I don't have much experience with the XD.

The question still stands on it.

Is the frame walls kind of thin too?

              I have 2 1911s, Px4 and XDm in 45acp.
A number of other handguns in different calibers.

If I were to go into combat with my life on the line, I'd grab my XDm 45. It's my SHTF handgun.

It's my SHTF gun also. I carry my off duty everyday.

It's compact enough for me to carry with a t-shirt and shorts, but holds 20 rounds.

It has had well over 5k rounds through it, and never fails.

The XDm does absolutely nothing for me. I got a .40S&W in XD form, and will get a .45ACP in XD as well. Much better ergonomics to/for me

Good ol' rock springs wyoming. Used to play a lot of hockey up there.

They fixed the feed ramp that caused the XD models to not feed swc boolits along with what else has been mentioned.

holding it in agun shop is not the same as shooting it. I really like my XDM 9mm - accurate and a good trigger. I never really liked the XDs but the XDM feels better in my hand than my Glock. All in the eye of the beholder I guess.

Seems like the compact was cool because of the nice molded magazine extension. Like getting a compact and full size in one gun. But no 10rd mags avail last time I checked.

Can you tell me how to get out of here?

                            LoL

Hopefully they can fix it tomorrow and I can drive home.

If not I'll have someone drive my truck up and I'll tow it home.

                              True.

But if you don't get the warm fuzzies from holding it at the store are you gonna get the warm fuzzies on the line?
