Do they make a gun like this?

If given the choice I'd carry a 22LR in the Browning Buckmark platform as a concealed carry weapon, with a 3 or 4 inch barrel and a double stack 10 to 14 round magazine.

The only question is do they make a gun like this? I am not aware of anything even close.

    Thanks folks!

Most people aren't wild about .22LR as a CCW round. It's doable as there are guns that lend themselves to concealment. That said, if you like the Buckmark you might seek out a version called the "Micro Mark." Looks like a standard Buckmark but with a short bull barrel and a slightly bobbed grip. Probably not available in Kalifornia.

A trip through Gun Genie shows plenty of semi-auto .22LR's available from other makers though. I'm no expert on CCW but from the tons of info in these message boards I'd go with no smaller caliber than a .380 or .32 auto. LE style ammo available in those calibers and plenty of reliable choices from many manufacturers.
    I'm good with numbers:
    .22 .32 .380 .40 5.56 .223

I did not realize they made a Micro Mark, unfortunately they still have the hugh grip, which is not conducive to concealment. If the handle was another inch shorter I could make that work.

Thanks for your comments, appreciate your input.

The Beretta 87. There are 10 round mags for it. It's basically a .22lr 84/85 Cheetah.

I gotta get myself one. Good news is the blue 3.8" model is on the roster. I'm not enthusiastic about the asking prices for a .22lr pistol (costs as much as a decent 1911), but eventually I think I might find a deal.

In some situations shooting a PERP or multiple PERPS with a .22 you:

            1. Risk making them madder

            2. Not stopping the threat. Big Perps need a combination of Foot Pounds of Energy and immediate organ hits to Stop The Threat. (put them down)

            3. You're not shooting helpless rabbits. People with intent on harming you need a bigger bore (bullet weight) and velocity (FPS) and a .22 just won't do that job.

My personal minimum is 9MM/.38/.357 diameter and moving more than 1000 FPS. Also, in those calibers I want a tested proven hollow point that will expand.

My wife has a ppk/s 22 available to carry and she prefers it over a lot of others including the .380 we have.

Doesn't Ruger make a 4" MKII...and you could even consider a 1911-22 - to which someone looking at it would think 'o'sh' and in fact
the Browning 1911/22 is a bit smaller then a traditional 1911.

Seriously. I was thinking the same thing. Monty Python and the Holy Grail is the first thing that comes to mind. That rabbit was not helpless.

If you are going to carry a .22 it better be a 5.7x28. If a 22lr is all I can carry then a Browning Buckmark will suffice.

I greatly appreciate all the replies, in the end it doesn't seem the weapon I want exist. The Micro Buck is the closest I've seen but the handle is still the normal size at 5.2 inches and no double stack magazine, not sure if I've ever seen a double stack in a 22 cal magazine, maybe perhaps it's because rimfire bullets can't be double stack, to be honest I don't know.

As far as the caliber we can debate that another time in another thread, I'm completely comfortable in my abilities and training knowing that if I had a 10 rounds of 22LR, I would get my shot(s) on target and stop a threat or multiple threats without incident, unless I had to deal with a ballistic helmet & body armor, in that case I'll reassess and try alternate shot placement of other soft tissue.

                      Thanks again!

You'll get arguments all day long about the .22 LR for self-defense, and I won't fan the flames too much. But, if it's what you got when you are threatened, it's better than nothing. And look at the .22 magnum; a .22 mag round has as much (if not more) energy than a single pellet of 00 buck out of a shotgun; think about that one.

This looks to be a contender as well. However, it's the same weight as a Glock 27 so it may not be worth it.

The issue for me with .22 is the reliability factor. I'd personally go at least .380, preferably 9mm.

22LR doesn't lend itself to double stacking (especially in a straight magazine).

Keltec did get their double stack pistol to feed somewhat reliably, however their magazines reportedly ftf once their springs set in.
