    Interesting.

I know CZ has been using them for a while. Never understood what the advantage is with them.

It may just give you a little bit more travel to pull the slide back to release the slide stop when using a shok buffer on some 1911s.
Yes, flat springs compress further without binding or bottoming out.

I've put David Tubb flat recoil springs in all my AR's, and am very impressed about the softer recoil and lack of "bump" when pulling the charging handle fully rearward. I also do not expect to change them out for many years.

Wilson says do not to use a buff with these because the guide rod hole in the buff will be too large. The buff will move around on the rod, since the rod is smaller diameter and get torn up even faster than they normally do.

Wilson does come up with some goofy stuff; like recoil buffers and full length guide rods. I guess that's how he can afford all his ranches.
The one for sale (if it still is) was pretty nice. Both indoor and outdoor ranges, hunting land and a pond.

I dropped it in and my target loaded shot like a dream as always. I could not feel a difference. Let's hope it last 10x longer as advertised. The guide rod is a tad bit thinner so the spring will not work on a standard GI guide rod or a FLGR. You gotta use a spring plug set up. Thank you all for your feedback.

+1 on the david tubbs flat spring
It fixed the ammo limitations on my Ar10

Tubbs has videos on you tube explaining how and why he uses, makes and sells flat recoil springs

WC has them as out of stock but a guy on e-bay has quite a few for anyone looking to possibly try it on their 1911.
