Ok...heres the lastest.I just recieved my NOVELTY pistol back in less than 7 days from MRI. They removed the burrs from the bolt, polished the extractor and ejector, adjusted slide catch and factory magazine and then told me I shouldnt use ProMag Mags(yea ok). This was done to fix my jamming issues. I think its clear that the company is fully aware of the guns jamming defects but instead of ordering a mass recall, they would rather you just suffer first then figure out when it would be feasible to ship it back. I must admit, had this been any other gun, i wouldve posted it on CalG's already and sold it. Now that I have a function weapon again, its time to send it off to get DuraCoated...hoooyah

Wow - I guess I am just lucky. I cant remember the last time I piped a round. It will happen every now and then when a new person shoots the gun but not for me. I did have mine dual magna-ported and it is very managable in .44 and .50. I shoot alot of .44 and the gun is very accurate, just takes a bit of getting used to. I run mine with 2400 and a mid power load and use a Lee FCD with a mild crimp. The gun does like a good lube (I use the Wilson Combat Lube).Never return fire!

I've had problems with the Promags. I'd steer clear of them myself. You cant shoot those guns straight out the box. You have to take it home and clean and lube them for max performance. Also try and get some Promag magazines. They feed better than the stock mags and are cheaper...Also, with DE's you have to rack the hell out of that gun after inserting a fresh mag. Unlike Glocks and most handguns, you have to really man handle the DE like a Pitbull and show it whose boss. May come off obsurd, but I havent had any issues with mine since.
MR seems to have overcome the feed issues that some of the older mags had.sigpic

I have never had any issue with my D44. It does like full power rounds compared to weak reloads. It was easily remedied with just removing the inner recoil springs. Now all "weak" loads will cycle flawlessly. Also D44 is a gas gun, so jacket bullets only. Or one will have fun times tried to clean out lead in the gas system.
As a side comment, muzzle energy will dictate how weapon cycles, not just bullet weight alone. Ie, a 240 grn bullet @ 1180fps has ~ 250 ft.lbs less energy compared to a 200 grn bullet @ 1490fps. So a D44 may cycle fine with 200grn but not with 240grn. Just 0.02.Comment

Along the lines of the OP's original issues with MR, not the DE itself, does anybody know what is really going on with these guys? I picked up a DE XiX .50 two years ago, and I've been (un)patiently waiting for them to offer additional slides/barrels/uppers in additional calibers like .357 & .44, only to be told by them it is coming soon. They've even pulled all of the additional barrelts and bolts off their web site. You can't get any parts other than black .50AE now. I know the acquisition by Kahr has them scrambling a littlebit, but this is bordering on ridiculous. One of the main reasons I bought my DE was to be able to get the .357 semi-auto, and since it was sold out I figured I'd get the .50 AE in the mean time and then just add the barrel. Well, that and the fact that it was available in gold titanium.. about as pimp as one can get, unless you have the goods to pull off sporting a gold one with tiger stripes. Even too ostentatious for me.
I'd be more than happy to hang onto this gun and wait more if I can see some light at the end of the tunnel, otherwise I'm going to sell it. Anyone have any insights into what Kahr/Magnum Research are planning on doing with the DE line and when it may happen?Comment
