XDM Trigger Job

The trigger on my XDM is a little spongy. Does anyone have recommendation for a drop in kit or a place to take it to get it a little more crisp?

PRP has a kit. But honestly, its a polymer gun and won't get that crispiness as 1911 or such. Besides, learn to like stick trigger. You'll only get better.

Ive contemplated getting a trigger for my XD but after around 3k rounds thought the pistol I shoot it extremely well. I just got used to it. I guess im also just leaving it alone since its my primary HD pistol.

Instead of PRP, I'd have a look at Springer Precision.

+1 to the PRP Drop in kit. Easy to install and really tightens up the trigger pull.

I have the PRP drop in kit for both my XD45 and XDM 9. The take up is significantly reduced, pull is lighter, and reset is very quick. It's still not super crisp, but a huge improvement over stock. If I changed out the sear too (available in other sets) it'd likely be a bit sharper.

I should also add that the install for the PRP drop in kit is incredibly easy, and requires nothing more than two punches and maybe a hammer. In addition to the trigger, trigger spring, and sear safety lever, the drop in kit also replaces striker spring and striker safety spring in the slide. First one took me about 35 min using their install video, second one took less than 20. PRP has a series of videos online showing step by step instructions.

PRP drop-in if you're really really concerned about ease of install, you're pressed for every minute of your time, not good with your hands or maybe pinching pennies.

Otherwise you can do the Ultimate Match trigger, and get a fair bit closer to a 1911 trigger, without any great drama. The only issue with the Ultimate match kit is, if doing the work yourself, the importance of constantly iterating through the install-test-remove-adjust loop, which maybe takes an hour or two if you're pretty substandard using your hands. Also, you can have your local smith install the kit for you, or ship your XDm up to PRP and have them do it.

Lastly, besides Scott at Springer, also consider Rich at Canyon Creek. I got to test fire one of his 4P+ XDms and it's trigger was every bit as good as my Ultimate Match.

I just got my XD back from Springer for their comp trigger job. it's a night and day difference. Shipping to and from was hard o swallow (even with their discount) but I know I will like it once I get to try it other than dry firing. Great customer service.

+ 5 on PRP kit..i have one and love it...thats how the 5.25 competition model should have came from the factory...with this kit installed. night and day difference

i'm lookin' to get the ultimate match installed on my xdm 9. anyone know of a reliable gunsmith who can install it in the SoCal area, preferably near the IE. don't want the hassle of having to ship overnight both way$.
