Picked up my CZ SP01, ongoing range reports

Thanks for the tips guys. I am kind of superstitious when it comes to modifying my guns. I have it ingrained in my head that stock = reliable, so I'm a little gun shy even doing something simple like experimenting with different spring weights.

I plan to keep either the SP01 stock or the 75b stainless stock, and I'll probably mod and tune the other.

I'd keep the B stock, since they are harder to find. The sp01 is just such a fun gun to shoot.

Just did the DROS on my new SP01 Tactical. So the wait begins. At least I got to say hello to it before I had it arrested and put in jail. I wasn't sure about this purchase, because I really wanted a 75BD, and 75bd is saves me a ton of cash. But, alas, none had shown up. When I saw CZC had some SP01 Tacticals, I started counting my money again. Low and behold, I had stashed enough away! I ordered it, and did the DROS and had plenty of time to "play" with it before it goes to jail and becomes an SSE gun. Countin' the days now

congrats allright. I think you will be happy you went with the sp01 tactical over the BD. I really enjoy that extra weight upfront and the beavertail. Did you do your SSE at Valkyrie? That's where I'm getting my stainless from.

Daybreak, yes, Valkyrie is the FFL doing the SSE. I didn't know the 75 Stainless was off roster too! Is yours the matt SS?

I've got a P01 and a 9mm Rami as well. I'm lovin' CZ at the moment.

Yes I got the matte SS. I also have a satin nickel there at Valkyrie, but I don't have plans on keeping it.

I didn't get to go to the range as planned today. For another day!

grabagun.com had a few when I checked yesterday, and czcustoms had a bunch recently.

range trip number 2 today. Shot 250 failure free rounds for a total of 460 through the gun so far. The gun is running great.

I brought 150 rounds of 115 grain Speer Lawman and 100 rounds of 115 grain Federal from Walmart, all FMJ. I noticed the Speer Lawman was MUCH hotter than the Federal. I knew it felt hot before, but after alternating mags of fed and lawman, I could really feel the difference. It felt like a totally different caliber. I noticed a difference in my accuracy as well. Here's a target pic at 10 yards, 10 rounds of lawman on the left, and 10 rounds of federal on the right. Looks like the hotter loads are causing me to flinch a little.

Just an FYI, The Speer Lawman is loaded to be similar to their Gold Dot ammo, but less expensive to use as practice ammo.


My personal favorite through my CZ is RWS Sportline 124 grain. Seems to be the most accurate for me, but again is loaded a little warm similar to the Lawman.

It seems to come and go. When its around, its cheap. I think weapons world stocked a lot of the RWS stuff, and had some good deals on it. I actually picked it up from Big 5 a couple times at around $12 a box. I cleaned them out every time.

From what I have read over on CZ forums, the CZ was based on 124 grain, but considering they use 115 grain S&B at the factory to test fire, I'm not to sure on how true it is. I load my own 9mm with a Berrys 124 RNHB with a light charge, and they shoot soft and are accurate enough.
