Les Baer TRS can be had for a couple hundred more, Depending on your find....Blow the production crap doors off a SA.

A grand or more on a Kimber and you just lost out, Kimber's best bang for the buck is the Custom II . Hands down, Anymore and you are taking it in the rear.

less baers are ****ing solid, but out of the budget for OP.

I would look for a used Les Baer or 70 series colt. Occasionally you can find a gently used Wilson or Nighthawk for a couple hundred more and they are definitely worth it.

When you are spending $1500, What difference is another $200?? Seriously.

                  if you're spending 1700, what's the difference in 1900?

I can keep on going, when I set the max high, it's there for a reason. If OP has $1500 and he wants a gun now, there is nothing wrong with buying a $1500 gun.

You sure can keep on going. But, The difference between a SA TRP and a Les Baer TRS is worth the minimal expense. After that the margin gets higher with other semi customs and is probably not worth the extra expense. After all, It's better to buy once, Cry once

Exactly...Your first should be the original...COLT.

My buddy is in the same position as you...COLT only for him...Now he needs to find one.

I ordered one and the distributer said it would take a year to get one. I cancelled the order and picked up a Sig TacOps. Like it very much. I also took a look at the SA MC Operator but the Sig had more features for less money.

OP, I just bought my first pistol as well, and I went for the SA TRP!!! ...still waiting to pick it up.

I was in the same boat as you. I was going to get a slightly less expensive gun, like a Kimber TLE or SA Loaded, but decided that if this was a gun I was going to have for life, I was going to buy it right the first time.

The quality and the warranty/customer service is what drew me toward the TRP. I probably could have gotten a used custom gun, but I wanted my own, brand new gun, that I could pass on to my kids that I know will work forever.

Go with SA TRP or used Les Baer.

As many have said before, "Buy once, cry once!"
