Last deal I got quoted was $1390 and the brick and motar store it could be up to 3 months wait (East Bay). South Bay all the gun stores basically told me they're wait list was unknown.

Try Guns Fishing & other stuff @ Vacaville, they have on display last Friday. It won't hurt to give them a call

The MC operator was my first 1911, and I've been very happy with it. The only thing I disliked was the grip and lack of a checkerd front strap. Those issues were resolved after a quick trip to the custom shop.
how much was that "trip'? was it more than $400, because you need recoat the frame as well. it was the reason I sold mine and ordered trp full rail.

I have put about 1500 rounds thru mine and still love it. Everything just seems so right.

I pick mine up on Monday.

Yes, yes it was. It was alittle over 600. Checkerd front strap, blended S&A mag well and A1 defense pkg then recoat the frame. The custom shop went even further and fitted an over sized bushing, cleaned up the slight slide over hang that it had and recoated the slide. She felt tighter overall and has ran flawless since I got her home. I am very happy with their service.

I've ran at least 800rds through her since I got her back and not one failure. This gun will be handed down to my son some day... After I'm dead

I know for what I paid in total I could have picked up a TRP, but I just couldnt bring myself to sell the MC. From my experience I decided my next 1911 would have everything I wanted from the get go. I'm now four months in to my seven month wait on my Ed Brown classic custom. It's a long painfull wait

Very nice! I was looking Springfield Operator but, all the shops I looked at never has them in stock and said Springfield rarely makes these pistols. Was it a special order?

Not sure what specific model you are wanting (MC, TRP, LW)

SA uses batch production for its 1911 models, you may not see a certain model for a long time...then, all of the sudden you see a bunch of that model.

They are around if you are not in a hurry just keep yours eyes open.
