Anybody in California take delivery of a Roster Derya DY9 Yet?

Sights can be modded and eventually replaced. If enough Derya's sell, we know that capitalism will cause someone to see that there is a market for replacement sights for all of the DY9s out there. I challenge you to find a better defensive handgun for $299.99, especially here in Commifornia.

Unfortunately the sights are not clones, they have their own proprietary way of mounting to the slide, making them incompatible with every other sight on the market.
My Walther PDP Compact uses Glock sights, I really wish Derya had done the same.

The Derya has a locator dot along with a counter sunk allen for the front, and Glocks have an elongated hole and the little infamous hex screw from the underside.
The rear sight on the Derya has a set screw AND had to be pressed out. A Glock sight just slips right through as it seems like its a full millimeter skinnier in the sight cut.

From what Derya says, there are no third party sights that fit. Might be able to take it to a gunsmith and have them figure out something but since its a cheap pistol, probably not worth the outlay to do so.
I'm switching out the rear fiber with black Dawson tubes and the front red with white Dawson tubing, that's about the best you're going to get without doing something custom with a gunsmith.

I ordered an island barrel kit and plan on using a red dot i already have. Still not a bad deal at $600 for a optic ready, island ported pistol with an extra slide and barrel 😀.
The front sight is still usable even if the fiber is a bit dim. I can live with the front sight for now.

I do not advocate any removal of any CA mandated safety device 😏but the mechanism (trigger blocking lever & spring) are held in place by a small diameter pin an inch above the magazine release.

You have to ask? Everything having to do with guns is illegal in Commifornia. The adage is, if you have to ask if it's legal here, it's illegal.

There is no manufacturing of firearms or promotion thereof. Merely clearly protected first amendment right speech of publication of gun specifics, parts, and operations for educational purposes.

The original author made it clear that they do not condone altering the firearm.

I plan on adding an optic once the island barrel kit arrives. I do like optics on my competition and defense pistols, this will be the first for a range toy. I also have irons only pistols too.

No optics for me, I tried them on my H&K VP9 and Ruger Max 9 and they make me shoot slower and less accurately than irons. Do not like.

Not sure if your question is for me, but the Derya DY9 will go on my CCW next renewal with four other pistols, G19, PDP Compact, Shield Plus PC and Ruger Max 9

If your question is for me, yes the DY9 is just a range toy for now. My main HD guns are.the G19 and SS XR920.
Will need to shoot more through the DY9 to make sure it reliable enough for HD but with the stock slide. The island barrel is for range use only.
