I probably ruined my DY9, but it's just going to be a range toy that'll eventually go to my son. Put on the Strike MDC, Gideon Omega, DY9 OR RMR slide, and HandleIt sandpaper grips. I'll go to the range after I come back from my work trip and see how it shoots compared to my G19 with a Radian comp.
I noticed that G17 mags fit pretty good into the DY9 since the magwell covers most of the mag and keeps your palm from touching the mag. Almost better to to use those than the DY9 base plates on G19 mags.

Derya ... can't help but want to pronounce it 'Diarrhea'. (After all, it's Türkiye based. At least they're making them in the US).
Sort of like Toyota's 'TRD'. I inevitably want to say 'Turd.'

Hello fellow Calgunners,
After going through this thread and watching YouTube videos, I am really tempted to order dy9 from turners, its all your fault
Few questions before i order:
1. Is it a reliable HD gun? As good as a G19?
2. I am not planning on putting optic, so are the truglow sights it comes with are good enough?
3. Is the grip angle better than G19?
4. How about the trigger compared to G19? Can we make it better by polishing?
Looks like Derya is working on AB1127 compliant version for CA..
ThanksLast edited by Raptor3000; 11-19-2025, 11:10 AM.Comment

1. I can't comment on this yet since I haven't shot mine, but will next week when I'm back in town. I've seen more positive review videos online and maybe a couple of negative ones saying there was a malfunction after thousands of rounds (of constant shooting).Hello fellow Calgunners,

2. The sights are fine, but the front red sight doesn't really light up as much as the rear green sights do, not unless I'm directly under bright light or out in the sun. Larping around the house, the front red sight looks really dark like a black sight post - at least to me. The unfortunate thing about the DY9 slides are they're not cut to fit standard Glock sights, and there aren't any different sight options on Derya's website. Maybe somebody has a work-around to this with aftermarket sights but the options right now appear limited.
3. Same as the G19. It may feel better in your hand than a stock G19 since the DY9 magwell extends a little lower and allows more of your hand on the grip. If you remove the magwell, then I think a G19 feels better.
4. The trigger bar and connector on the DY9 comes polished from the factory. I took everything out when I "adjusted" my MDM and noticed the trigger design is exactly the same as a Gen 3 G19.Comment

I ended up blacking out the rear sight on one of my DY9. I used black gel nail polish. 3 coats of it and it has held up. It doesn't rub off.Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.
