Agreed, 9mm 2011/1911s don't do much for me, it's like a perversion of John Browning's design ;-) Something very gratifying about shooting .45 ACP instead of 9mm.

That springfield Echelon looks nice. No "grip zone" writing anywhere on it.

The Derya looks llook more like what i would think Springfield would come out with.

Well it does offer 20 and 17 round capacity, somewhere over the rainbow.

Sister-in-law, who lives in a free state, has one. That's a very sweet gun. She let me shoot it, and I was able to put the 1st 3 rounds into a tight group in the center of the bullseye.
Nice feel, trigger and sights. Will definitely look to pick one up

There was an analogy made here years ago that having a 9mm in a 1911 is like having a V6 in a Camaro, but I've one (a 1911 in 9mm).
