Why WTS guns are remaining untouched?

I have noticed nobody is buying guns on the marketplace anymore and they remain untouched for months. What do you think is the reason. Are prices too high? . Is it the economy and people dont want to spend on discretionary purchases anymore?

The majority of Americans have been struggling financially, are drowning in debt and buy stupid things like $2,000 iPhones and lame ace Tesla Cybertrucks. Who has money for guns?

It is partly the economy and also the site's non-reliabilty.

The site has been terrible for over a year +.
User's have moved on, or haven't looked/ logged on.

Or the hard times are coming again, or the good times are over!

The glock gen 3 for S600 is over
The shield for $500 is gone
The $500 9mm for 1000 rounds is stupid
          The new roster guns
The 1 gun/ 2 gun buyers are gone
          New people dont do forums

Old people read forums, and shop for sale adds

The site down for so long has lost everyone's confidence in posts, selling, or info

          just saying

Because I rather buy new roster guns that can be unneutered after purchase instead of paying markup to roster exempt seller

Caguns market is better. That being said , I just got a reasonable P-01 here recently. We immediately exchanged numbers because the site is so unreliable. I’ll be selling a gun very soon, not sure if I’ll list it here

The site is just not functional to search, peruse, and 'shop' here on a regular basis with fluidity as much as it had been several years ago.

I could sit and scan several marketplace forum pages of hundres of new posts, checking every other third ad, like clicking around Gunbroker. New ads were place a few dozen times each hour. Come back the next day, it looked totally different.

Traffic and member presence is way down. Access is way down, if at all. Functionality is way down.

And yes, probably people pulling back on spending since this time a year ago when rates started to surge. I certainly haven't spent as much on guns this year like in the prior 30 years, even though I have plenty of surplus disposable income. I'm just applying it elsewhere.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

I do. But I see nothing in the marketplace that I'm willing to spend cash on.

I've sold some here and some on CAGuns. Some went really fast, others took a little longer. With this site not working well I listed my email and cell phone number. I told people to email or text me. Those who did got good deals and fast responses. Those who tried to use the site to communicate lost out.
                    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

The stuff that’s not selling is overpriced or undesirable. The stuff that is selling you never see because it comes and goes so quick. It’s a buyers market right now BIG TIME.

I don't know about others for me the economy isn't a factor at all since my financial situation is stable. A big part is the site being not as reliable. Don't get me wrong it's a lot better than when at it's worse nearly a year ago but it makes it hard to communicate back and forth.

Last year when the site was down for 2 months I was able to pick up a Staccato P at retail brand new from a guy who needed money and couldn't get any traffic with the site down. Luckily we exchanged numbers before it collapsed and through texts as he became more desperate he came down to retail even still made money since he bought it at a discount being a LEO.

A lot of stuff is over priced and with a number of guns now being CA legal and can be picked up at a store new why would you pay off roster prices? Just because something is rare doesn't mean it's worth a fortune unless the demand is extremely high and you find that one buyer who has to have it.

For me the biggest problem besides being over priced is sellers being wishy washey. I contacted sellers many of times and they take a long time to respond, don't send you pictures, and ghost/flake on you when you are serious to purchase. One guy led me on for a month about he needed to get his real ID and I kept checking with him and was willing to pay his inflated price, find out in the end he sells it for more to another guy even though we had agreed to meet. Well sucks for the other guy now I can pick up a PDP with in the next month for half the price the buyer paid.

Another guy had a Glock Gen 4 I had been looking for messaged him many of times and texted him and he waited over 3 weeks to reply. Asked when he wanted to meet he then goes MIA so I lost interest if he isn't serious I'm not wasting my time.

More roster options killed the mainstream off-roster gray market. Why buy a Glock 43 or 43x for $1,000 when you can buy a Hellcat or P365 for $600? VP9's and P320's on the roster are <$1,000 OTD while previously the gray market options were listed at $1,300+.

I still think the best marketplace buys are Gen 4 Glocks. You pay a small premium for significant improvements vs a Gen 3.
