I'm sure it will probally run fine.

Shoot it stock then decide what you want.

Was this issue specific to a certain Glock model? or production time frame? Or a specific serial number run? I have owned over 30 Glocks in the last 20 years, and run close to 300,000 rounds thru in that time and have never seen an issue with either extraction or ejection.

That's nice to think in theory, but even the koolaid drinkers who were skeptical on GT are now believers. As the MIM extractors wear, problems may arise. I will start testing my brand new made in March Gen 4 G19 tonight and will have a few hundred rounds in before I receive the kit, and I may hold off on installing until I have 2,000+ rounds in.

It's happening to 2010 and up Glock Gen 3 and 4 9mm's who now share the same MIM dip extractor opposed to the old cast one you're familiar with. So far there's been revised recoil springs and ejectors (336 to 30274) with some having good luck and some not. There are many people reporting weak ejection, ejection back in their face and the cases stovepiping. These are from seasoned shooters and not involving limp wristing.

I don't have nearly as much experience as you, but I've owned 7 Glocks over 12 years and 40,000+ rounds with the one I'm picking up being number 8.

That explains it. I don't have anything newer than 2007...

What about the 40's and 45's?

The problems have been narrowed down to the newer 9mm Glocks from what I've read and observed, Glock went out of their way to make the .40 reliable which hurt 9mm reliability. I'm not a huge follower of Hickok45 but he's big into Glocks and even he had some problems with his Gen 4 G19.

Todd Green who is known for the 50,000 round in less than a year endurance test had these problems as soon as he started shooting:

Yes this was awhile back, NOW you can find both 3rd and 4th Generation 9mm Glocks doing the same thing since they share the offending parts. But I have a difficult time in what you're actually trying to pinpoint... I gave some examples of the dozens of topics on this by a reputable and popular source.

My recommendation to not to add a thing until you have 1K rounds through it. The glock really doesn't need any fancy doo-dads. Because I am used to 3-dot sights, I add night sights. Otherwise I would just leave it stock. It doesn't need anything else.

Of course, I have all kinds of extras from back when I bought my first Glock and thought I needed to trick it out. I've kept them, and at least 1 Glock in the stable gets them added to it. But that is more about not wanting to throw those parts away than thinking I need them.

The one thing I do recommend money on (and this is something I say again and again until I am blue in the face because I believe it is that valuable) is a professional training course. Regardless of whether you are an experienced owner, or a first time shooter - the experience of taking a Tactical Pistol one course is something everyone should experience. No matter how good you are, you will see a huge leap in ability. Plus the courses are a ton of fun. I try and take at least one course per year, sometimes repeating a course I have already take other times taking more advanced courses or courses with a different focus, and get a great deal out of it every time. See the competition, action-shooting, and training section for an ad for a school near you.

Not saying one way or another because it hasn't happened to me, I'm just curious about the problem.
