I just picked one up on gun broker for $1380.00 brand new. I realized I hadn’t purchased a 1911 in a while and said why not. Haven’t even held one yet 😂

My LGS did a post on this gun the other day and my wife sent it to me all excited "Look at this new gun!" and kinda got moody when I pointed out to her that I had shown her the 9mm version back when it first came out but was not on roster. Then I realized that I haven't bought any new guns or gun related items since the BS super extra tax went into effect in July. I'll be waiting until I GTFO to my new place in AZ in a couple years before buying any new toys.
It was not a threat. It was an exaggerated response to an uncompromising stance. I was taught never to make a threat unless you are prepared to carry it out and I am not a fan of carrying anything. Even watching other people carrying things makes me uncomfortable. Mainly because of the possibility they may ask me to help.

Ugh............ just looked up a youtube video on how to remove the MDM. The guy altered the trigger, but it looks like a straight part swap with a traditional trigger would do the trick too, and it didn't appear the frame had anything going on differently like the Kimber does.

So what I'm saying............ is it looks like there is a very simple way to comply with CA BS and flood the market with new 1911s with what appears to only need a mag release swap, and a trigger hoop swap. For anyone that has detail cleaned a 1911, this is a straight forward no need to tune/fit part swap.

When you first get here, you tend to go a little nuts just cause it’s so easy to buy, I’ve bought 5 or 6 pre-owned guns since I got here. Everytime I just meet the seller in a parking lot, exchanged money for gun chitchatted a bit and then left with my new gun. Bought a few new too, also super easy buy gun walk out with it.

But after awhile you get use to it and your buying slows down, I don’t think I bought one gun in 2024.

LOL I have a list! I also have a wife who I will rely on to regulate my purchasing. Of course, the new homestead comes first, so that will also serve as a control.

For a little less 'bling', perhaps the Kimber Shadow Ghost?
(I just bought one of those in 9mm and the 10 days are over this upcoming weekend!)
