For my personal decision when I bought my G19 it was for a couple reasons:

1.) I planned to carry whatever I bought.

2.) Being in California and only limited to 10 rounds, I wasn't gaining any round advantage by having the 17 over the 19.

3.) I have average size hands and the 19 felt better ergonomically to me than the 17 did.

19 is pretty popular than the 17...I think. Go for the 19.

It's a matter of preference. I've always found the 19 to balance and shoot better for me.

It is all about you. They both will drill out quarter sized groups at 15 yards all day long. I see no difference in accuracy between my G34, 71, 19 and 26. If you want to meet up send me a PM and you can give them all a try. Sammy

Personal preference. I like the 19. But, I shoot M&P's.

So 17 would be better for accuracy and range? CCW is out of the window for Kalifornians:-) anyways.
Sacramento rubber stamps them after getting sued. I would do more research. CCW may be in your near future.

In any case, I've owned both the 17 and 19 and enjoy shooting the 17 more.

                      .
                      This is a good observation.

I personally don't understand the point of getting the 19 over the 17, unless you just dig it, then that's off limits. If it is for the range or home defense I'd go with the 17, where a little more weight and sight radius are arguably a benefit. If it is for CCW I'd go with the 26. Nowhere would I go with the 19. It seems to be trying to fill both roles, but doesn't. YMMV

Have you had the chance to handle both yourself yet? If it was for me, i'd pick the 19 since its more practical

When I was shopping for my Glock a few months ago I went through the same process. I ended up with the 17 just cause it felt better in my hands. (I also have average hands. Not too small or big). I LOVE the gun and couldn't be happier with how it shoots and feels. (also 17 is a lucky number for me so it was fate)
