    Staccatos in the Market Place

Got bored on a Monday night and decided to go back to 15 pages of Private Handgun sales for some data on Staccatos because I see them everywhere. Staccato guns are probably one of the most listed and most expensive on average in the market place. Another reason I'm started this is so I know how much would be an OK price to pay should I splurge for one for my birthday in January.

The prices of these have definitely down down a bit once guns are starting to make it to the roster. The new 2024 C will probably take push the C2 and CS prices down a bit as well. There's no shortage of these for sure if you decide to go for one.

    Here's what I found after 15 pages

    Average Price :

    C2 : $4120
    C2 LAPD : $6700 (there was only 1 listing)
    CS : $4500
    P : $4240
    XC : $6670

    Number guns for sale

    C2 : 12
    CS LAPD : 1
    CS : 11
    P : 20
    XC : 7

Lowest Price vs Highest Price listed

    C2 : $3200 - $5500
    CS : $3600 - $5500
    P: $3300 - $6000
    XC : $5000 - $8500

Staccatos are like ARs and Glocks. Most likely the buyer will read somewhere or someone told them that it was the gun to have so they bought it, only to find out that it isnt what they actually "need".
Then it gets dumped into the classifieds once they have decided that too much money is locked up in it.
An Atlas is the same thing. Its a competition gun and not a home defense weapon.

I have a Staccato XL Tuxedo and an Atlas Athena and got lucky on the price for each one. I paid $4800 for the Staccato and $5500 for the Athena. It was just a matter of right place and time for each gun. I will say that paying the extra $800 for the Atlas and knowing it was actually worth more it really didn't feel like it was worth it to me. Shooting to two in comparison the Atlas to me was just barely better than the XL. I will tell you I'm just a casual shooter that likes a really nice gun that's why I own both of these guns but if I was a competitive shooter from what I hear the Atlas would be a much better gun. If your just a casual shooter save some money and get the Staccato just wait for that one that someone needs cash and is selling at a good price.

I'd rather get a Phoenix Trinity Honcho, my friend has one with multiple uppers, it's so nice...

The XC's are definitely not worth it when an Atlas can be had for $6500. If you can shell out $5000 for a XC then you are also someone with the means to some up with another $1500 for an Atlas.

I don't really go for range guns or competition guns anymore. I only buy guns I can carry now which is why I'm interested in the C...which barely makes sense at the free state price of $2500ish but not really at $4K.

That's pretty much the case for most of the "more expensive" firearms out there.

I own a Staccato P and it is one of my favorite 9mm handguns, awesome gun. But I paid retail on it ($2K), transfer cost was $15. Totally worth the price I paid, but I would not spend $4K for one.

CZ SP01. With a few mods and some polishing it's a very nice shooter. I have two standard SP01s and two SP01 shadows. If you can get a SP01 Shadow you will enjoy it even more.

I think you articulated the reason why they move slowly in the market place. For a bit more you can have an Atlas and for half the price you can have a Platypus that uses mags we all have.

I'm going the Platypus route myself. Patriot CNC or Vulcan Machine for the porting.
