So..I bought a CZ on impulse!!

Hello again Calgunners,

So I bought a CZ 75B on a whim today @ Guns Direct in Burbank. Woo hoo, part of the CZ family now!!I don't know much when it comes to the 75B, but it felt so good in my hands that I could just not pass it up.

So, please fill me in on how you guys feel about this gun. Please, don't hold back. I want the good and the bad. Also, major differences between the SP01 & 75B are???

I usually don't buy on impulse, but after all the positive reviews on the CZ, I said screw it.

Thanks fellas, cant wait for the 19th. To think I ONLY went in there today due to my home having wooden floors installed and me not having an inch to breath! lol

...major differences between the SP01 & 75B are???

SP-01 has a higher, upswept beavertail. SP-01 has a full-length dust cover with rail. SP-01 has ambi safety. SP-01 barrel is a bit thicker (this isn't really a feature or anything... or a major difference... but worth noting that they cannot be swapped). SP-01 comes with rubber grips, 75B with plastic. SP-01 typically comes with tritium night sights, 75B with glow in the dark sights or just green-ish painted dots.

I think that's the gist of it. Both GREAT guns.

I have the decocker version ( 75BD ) and it is excellent. Make sure that you give it a good cleaning before taking it out to the range the first time. Also, hang around here ( http://www.czfirearms.us/ ) and they can answer any of your questions.

Nice, CZ is on my shortlist...I owned a TZ75 20 years ago....was the handgun I was most accurate with out of all my guns.

Congrats! So much chatter lately about the CZ got you to join the family huh?
Jeremy covered all the differences nicely, but its easy to find a lot of info online about your future best gun. The other difference is hi mag. capacity. the 75B I believe is 16 while the SP-01 is 19.

As mentioned, the SP01 has tritium sights, a rail, heavier dustcover, rubber grips, higher beavertail.

IMHO the SP01 is set up like a target gun, without target sights, and is ugly.

I much prefer the regular 75b to the SP01.

I prefer the 37 year old looks of the 75b line, but it could use the nicer beaver tail of the SP-01. The only thing that bothers me about the SP-01 and some other CZs are the miss-matched slide serrations, ones forward and the other's vertical, just looks odd. Eh, but that's just aesthetics, the function of CZs makes most of their small short comings disappear.

If yours didn't already come with them, order the rubber grips from CZ, they're a nice cheep upgrade that can make a huge difference.
