Depends on what type of SW you're looking for. Collectibles you'd have to scour the marketplace and visit stores for inventory. Firearms industry is notorious for not putting stuffs online.
Martin B Redding had a few oldie two digit SWs I found.

You must also have a CA issued COE to register them in Ca. but that's not a requirement to buy out of Ca.
You don't need the COE to register out of state purchases. That's only needed in CA to avoid the 10 day wait when buying from a dealer. It also provides some other benefits.
        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Turners occasionally and Pawn Shops tend to have older treasures that children and grandchildren inherit and sell off.

Sorry to hear that. I always had a good experience with the folks at Triple As. But the Inventory and selection with the original box is hard to beat.

Pre-lock S&W revolvers are not abundant, but they are out there, and if a seller knows what he has, he isn't going to let it go cheap. I have set up a search for S&W revolvers in the State of California on Gunbroker, and there are some deals out there. I recently got a pre-lock Model 66 for $600 off Gunbroker.
