I love Miami Vice! What a fantasy world that couldn't possibly haves ever existed but lots of fun to watch. That Bren Ten was very cool but as others have said, the wanting might be better than the having. Hope things work out for you.
I wouldn't mind having the black Daytona Spyder that Sonny drove (a C3 Vette based kit car).

I was retail manager at very large gunstore when Bren Ten first appeared---let's just say, they had many many problems with quality control---quite roughly made and then you just could not get magazines to save your life! And just to be clear, I'm not talkin' about extra mags, I'm talkin' about no mags period---that's right, gun shipped with no magazine! A classic case of promotion being WAY ahead of the gun being ready for production---perhaps after a period of testing and refinement this pistol could have been a success, but the whole thing was handled very poorly what with the gun on the cover of every magazine and Col. Cooper saying this thing was the best idea yet. People called every day wanting to buy these guns.

This is going to be one SWEET pistol.

How do you get "much more than a .357??

[] With .357 mag, you can stay within SAAMI specs and get 1200fps out of a 200gr bullet, 1450 from a 180, and 1605 from a 158... [/] I've been doing that for a number of years...nothing very new or unusual. Not sure I see the BFD.

        Thanks. I'll pass.

If you say you're buying it 'cause a cool guy on an old TV show had one, go fer it.

Thousands of people who put a deposit on one have lost their money. While it looks good, it's a loser to manufacture. The years go by, no progress, several investors are out of $. One problem after another. Don't expect any decent production guns. Move on with your life.

Man this reminds me of the Indian motorcycle.....except it was once a decent company that did not last ,but, the many others who tried to revive it had no idea what had already been done to it or the name! And failed! That is a hard knock to move beyond. I wish for sucess but the manufacturer has to look far beyond the brand and give something the consumer wants at a reasonable price!

I loled when I saw the last Indian branded bike at more than the cost of a Harley. I guesed they would last five years....shoulda bet on it because it was just shy of that!

I spoke to a gunsmith who was asked by Dornus & Dixon to do the machining for some of the gun. He declined due to "bad vibes" and the fact he didn't need their business. Good move on his part.

The Bren Ten shared design features with the CZ, not the 1911. But then I've never owned one and not as knowledgable as some of the experts here. I'm sure there are also many double action/ single action 1911s at the range.

Yeah, no biggie except you start @ 1200fps, get more rounds and make a bigger hole. My Model 27 can't do none of that.

A friend of mine turned up one of these when going through his grampa's collection. It had an extra upper assembly in .45 and the 10mm slide had a crack in it at the top of the breech area. Neat pistol to look at but it just did not work out for a multitude of reasons.

                                I like your style, fishslayer. I've got a 1076, a 4013 custom 10mm conversion, a 610, and an early (square-slide) EAA Witness. The 1076 is my favorite - it's hell-for-stout, reliable, and accurate.

I've never been wooed by the Bren. The raised portion of the slide under the rear sight really turns me off of an otherwise-good-looking pistol. Kinda like when a chick with a rockin' body turns around and has butterface.
