    The Bren Ten

200gr, 1,200 fps, 700+ ft lbs. Much more than a 357 out of a semi auto.

    Who wants one? (raises hand)

This is going to be one SWEET pistol.

    ....IF VLTOR ever delivers it.

Does it come with appropriate wardrobe?

"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."

Better hope they build the magazines FIRST!

Definitely going to be looking to get this from vltor after its finished. Maybe even go to pick it up from the dealer in an all white suit with the sleeves rolled up, pastel shirt, aviators, and some white slip ons, with no socks...

Loved Miami Vice, and all the guns, cars & women. But, the original Bren Ten was an unmitigated failure at every level. Not sure what value there is in resurrecting a gun which never did well to start. Seems like that VLTOR company is in no better position to ever get one to market successfully, either.

I don't recall there being any fundamental issues with the gun itself, it was more to do with hyping it up for years, finally shipping them to dealers after interest had waned, but with no magazines, then the ultimate fail of never delivering the magazines. It never stood a chance because nobody could shoot them. We sold two of them back in the day and I believe we pretty much sold them at cost because we could not guarantee if we would ever get magazines. If only a couple things went differently, we might all be shooting Bren Tens today. (and a myriad of knock offs from all over the world)

That's pretty much what went wrong with the original. Great idea, big bore, magnum performance, 12 rounds, the Jeff Cooper pedigree etc.

Unfortunately it was ruined by the lousy planning of D and D.

Then there's the FBI's concern that it kicked too hard which pretty much killed it in favor of the 40S&W. But you can't discount 10 rounds of 10mm in a non Glock platform.

Yeah I guess these days it will face an uphill battle especially if it prices itself out of the market. But dang I'll still buy one haha.

I believe the problem with BrenTens were the frames/slides cracking. The 1911 did not fare too well as a linkless design.

The 1911 isn't a linkless design and the problem with the Delta Elite was fixed by modifying the slide stop hole

The Bren Tren was a linkless 1911 design that failed. Where did I or anyone mention Delta Elite?

Here. Maybe you were just drawing a parallel between a B-Ten and a 1911 but I interpreted "1911" as alluding to the Delta Elite.

Again, besides just the absolutely atrocious management and planning by both the prior manufacturers, and the not-so-funny lack of magazines to feed the guns, they really weren't made particularly well. I had the chance to shoot an original DD model, and it jammed on every reload (of the only magazine) and the action left much to be desired, even by double-action standards. Also, of note, were the ones the cracked and self-destructed.

I so wanted to love that gun, after seeing it on Vice. I still think it's a beautiful looking gun.

But spending time and money to resurrect the name is tantamount to trying to make a restaurant work in a location where countless others have failed before. Doomed, from the start...
