If you were to read all the great knowledge here on CGN, you would know that if you would have killed that man, you would be in jail for murder. Unregistered firearm, a man was opening a window in your home does not constitute a clean shoot, you would have been torn apart in court. That is if the story is even true.

I'm sure you would have benefited greatly from the "expert advice" on here and the training, tactics, etc that you seem to look down on. In no world would more reading, practice, and preparation hurt you in the situations you described. You don't have to believe everyone's commentary or take it all to heart, but it can all be helpful. You have to learn somehow! Did you learn anything at all from your experiences, besides that it was a good idea to leave the area you lived in?Comment

the title of this thread reminds me of this:
that's internet for you..... people claiming themselves as experts, been through this and that.........

Because I wish to. There is no inherent contradiction. No one NEEDS to however, and you have offered no meaningful case for why anyone should.|

I don't pretend to be an "authority." I'm just a guy who trains a lot, shoots a lot and has a perspective.

Let me impose my expert advise on this subject. I do not claim to "know it all", just about 99% of "it all". So please take out your notebook and pen, sit back and learn.
Okay, just screwing around. But, this forum and many others like it is filled with good members and information as well as bad information and members who think they know a lot more than they do. The key is to sift through the information and make an educated decision on what should be noted as good info and what should be ignored.
Like someone stated earlier, it's the internet. Everyone's an expert. You have to take the bad with the good and not let it bother you.Comment

Keep in mind that I was 17 at the time, still a minor and in fear of my life. And, I did not even know a single gun law at that time.
Obviously now, things are much different and my life is 100% different than what it was then.
And part of what I quoted before "...your enemies won't believe you anyways..."sigpicComment

Interesting thread, in a 'here's a bad example' kind of way.
RickRyder, thanks for taking all the spelling/grammar posts as the jokes they were; some people find them irritating. That also saves me from deleting them all.
That said, the OP was a bit like the stink-bomb at the garden party, and is getting response in kind, so I'm going to close it before things are said that cannot be unsaid.
Also, since this has nothing at all to do with handguns, wrong forum. Next time, try 'general guns'.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page
Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!Comment
