I know nothing about patent laws, if California postpones the MS requirement then there won't be anything to worry about. Unless California will pork out the funds to buy the patent rights and distribute it, but won't that be another can of worms to open.

I'll take micorstamping over a mag disconnect any day.

Is it a bad law yes is the mag disconnect and LCI worse I believe so.

With the point of view that a mag disconnect & LCI can diminish the best functioning of the gun (in theory and as executed, BHP is a good example of how not to do a mag disconnect) I suppose I'd agree. However, both the mag disconnect and LCI could be defended as a safety feature and appropriate for making a handgun "safer" for the user - some mag disconnects & LCIs are in place even where not required by law, so some gun makers and some people (not me) must think their desireable.

I know the roster isn't strictly a "this gun is not unsafe" list, but the arguments we've always heard is that roster testing is much based on safety. Microstamping has nothing to do with safety unless one takes the very broad "public safety" approach and I think should have no place determining whether a gun is rostered or not.
