Well, here's the gun, hope this helps. Here's one pic for those who start the thread here but go to the top for more.

Assuming lock work is tight, trigger clean and bluing intact, anything under $1500 would be a good pick up.

All of what you said is literally perfect with the exception of the right side of the barrel. Bluing looks like it came out of the factory yesterday. Did you take a look at the pics on the top of the page. I posted up a bunch more and edited what I found out about it. Lock up is perfect, there is literally almost no ring on it from cycling it, trigger is one of the best I've felt and can't be more than about 2.5lbs, and bluing is LNIB except the tiny dings.

I see it now. I'd expect a little something off for that. Given the otherwise clean and solid condition, I'd probably would still be willing to pay $1300 give or take. One last thing. Are the original grips available? I hate those rubber ones and would want a little something for not having the original wood grips.

To my knowledge these are the factory colt medalion grips. They're called the "Presidential Grips" and were the originals.

I will say looking on gunbroker, they're bringing more than 1200-1300 too even in that shape. Seems they're bringing in somewhere between $1600-1800 in the shape you see above.

I would assume somewhere between $1500-$1800... a gun is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Personally I would rather buy PPT because I don't have to pay CA sales tax on $1500... it would be cheaper to buy a $1700 gun locally AND you can hold it first

              PS...

I have a 1969 pre letter 4 inch blue I should sell.... damn these prices are high....

You have to look at them like buying a classic car, it's just going to go up in value

Sorry, the muzzle looks chewed. What's the story with those scratches and dings? At least for me, that would change the entire picture of the gun, and NOT something I would put at 90-95%.

It's not on the crown at all. Muzzle is actually perfect, but the pics make it look worse than it does in person. Local gun shop owner said 90% is conservative, and 95% is what he would grade it from his case. I had it checked out this morn before work. I can try and get better pics but the glare makes it look worse to me. Officially I don't own it yet so I am trying to roughly grade it but in worse than this they still bring in 1200-1600 and I'm getting it for 800 with extras.
