CZ 82 converted to 380

I picked up my CZ 82 from the gunsmith in Woodland yesterday and ran to the range in Carson City this AM to test it out. All I can say is it is much more comfortable to shoot. The last round or 2 didn't feed until I replaced the original recoil spring with at first a 16lb one then and 18lb one. The jamming, stovepiping went away with either of these 2 recoil springs in place. Seems just as accurate as the polygonal barrel. I think I've discovered some of MY, not the pistols, accuracy issues. I've always shot using my right eye to aim, today I tried a mag or 2 using my left eye and there does seem to be improvement using the left eye. I never woulda guessed. My dad was right handed but always shot his Win M 97 left handed, which I always thought was odd. The county sherrif was doing thier quals today next to where I was, so I just did my little test project with the CZ and my new Stainless 10/22 and left. Apparently I'm not the only one converting the CZ 82 to 380 as CZ-USA is almost sold out, again, of the 380 bbls from their last shipment, I had to wait 2 months to order my barrel from CZ-USA.

I think you'll like it when you get to shoot it. I had thought about J&G when they had the new CZ-83's on sale, but then shipping and FFL fees kind of discouraged that. I could also get a surplus CZ 83 from them via gifting from my kid, but that was still going to be a PIA. The bbl cost $109 delivered from CZ-USA (they have 4 left). The gunsmith charged me $85 which is less than what the CZ Custom shop was going to charge. All in all I am satisfied with the project, and it can always be converted back to 9 Mak.
