you know what's funny...i went to mparms to buy the glock 19 and i was curious about the glock 17 and how it felt in my hands...and the glock 17 in my hands felt alot better and more balanced compared to the glock 19..with the glock 19 however i can feel the hump on my palm which i didn't really like but with the 17 it felt normal...i wanted something smaller like the g19 but after comparing the two the g17 wasn't that much bigger in size..but in pictures the g17 looks like a giant compared to the g19 but that wasn't the case when you see it in person..the g17 isn't all that big when you actually look at it in person...i guess the camera does add 10lbs lol..anyways plus i can't even conceal carry anways so i went with the g17...im only 5'5 with small or normal size hands and the grip on the 17 was perfect...not sure why people say it has a big grip but for me it felt like a glove...i would say whatever feels best in your hands...plus if you plan on gssf or competition shooting i would suggest the g17...nothing wrong with the g19 though i still want that gun..maybe because im starting to really fall in love with glocks after owning one lol...Last edited by MyGlock17; 04-18-2012, 10:36 AM.Comment

Thanks for all the opinions!...Keep them coming!
Either one will be purchased from mparms. Can't beet his prices in the Bay Area.
Curious...I see the term GSSF mentioned quite often. What is that?Comment

Glock Shooting Sports Foundation.
Kinda overrated imo.
If you wanna compete join USPSA.
Considered a 34?Comment

GSSF, as JaeOne mentioned is the Glock shooting thingy, the reason people mention it is because if you buy the 2 year membership, you get two coupons (one per year) that allow you to buy a Glock for LEO prices. So you pay $60 for the 2 year membership and you get a discount of probably $50 (don't quote me!) on each glock, though you have to wait a year to get the second coupon.
The G34 is very popular in USPSA competition. If you aren't CCW (which you probably aren't going to be, since you're in CA) then why not the G34? You get a competition capable gun! The G17 is just as capable, I'm sure, but for competition, you might as well get that extra sight radius edge.==================

Remember to dial 1 before 911.
Forget about stopping power. If you can't hit it, you can't stop it.

Have had a 19 for about 9 years now. I really liked it then i was pretty down on it... now i'm back to it and like it again.
Bought a 17 a week or so ago and pick it up this Saturday. I'm pretty excited about it b/c i like the longer grip/slide/sight radius.
If you still haven't made your decision i'll have a couple hundred rounds down the 17 on Sunday.
Also I like the 19 b/c when i get a CCW I can use that.
Also i think i read somewhere than you can put a G34 slide on a 17 frame? that would be pretty awesome.Comment
