    G17 or G19?

Hey forum. I have tried both guns and shoot them pretty accurately.
Now i have to choose. I'm not looking to be told which one to buy, rather looking for the use case of one model over the other.

Yes I know the best answer would be to buy both, however I can't afford to

If you're going to carry concealed, Glock 19. If it's just for range and home use, Glock 17. You can thank me later.
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

One of each! I have both, and each serve a different role. If I could only have one, I would pick the 19.

Both are good, the only real difference being sight radius, weight and felt recoil. All small frame Glocks are the same dimensions thru the mid section. You can CCW a G17, just as you could run a G19 in USPSA competition, but if you can only choose one, go with the G17. That way you can add a G31/G34/G17L/G22/G35 or a G24 slide and barrel if you want because the frame is the same. With a G19 you can only switch with a G23 upper.

          My opinion also.

All other things being equal, a longer barrel means better (even if slightly) ballistics and a better sight radius.

If you can't carry it, there is no need to get a compact gun.

Go full size. G17 or 34.

G22!! Then get a Lonewolf 9mm conversion barrel along with a few G17 mags =)

Have two calibers without having to pay for a bunch of slides.

If you shoot both equally as well, just look for whichever you can get cheaper. I like the dimensions of the G17 frame as it fits my hand much better (especially with a Grip Force adapter). One thing to consider about the G19 is that you can use G17 mags, but not vice versa (due to length of mags).

I have a G34, but wouldn't mind trading it for a smaller Glock if it means I get some extra cash out of it.

Fun idea, but not sure if its worth it. At least for me, it was kind of wasted. I had P226s in all calibers and ended up just shooting 9mm.

+1. Maybe it is because I got my 19 first, but it just feels more comfortable in my hand compared to my 17. But you probably can't go wrong either way; flip a coin.

That's strange. The girth of the grip is about the same. The 17 grip is just longer.

Ehhh. Those conversions are hit and miss even when you change the ejector, extractor, and other related components.

You still have an incorrect breech face....

Mine was not reliable enough for match/competition duty.

I will take Glock 17 as well for range and home defense purpose handgun.

I haven't had any issues with mine, but I still wouldn't use it for match/comp use. It's just for plinking with a slightly cheaper round.
